Program for Neurodiverse Children | ExcelPrep
Ability-based learning for any child who needs it
ExcelPrep serves students in PreK through 8th grade — including children who are below grade level, have learning disabilities, or simply learn differently. You do not need a diagnosis to benefit from this program. If your child is struggling academically, our approach is designed for them. Instruction is organized around each student’s current ability — not their age or grade level. Homogenous grouping across core subjects means every learner works alongside peers at a similar level, making instruction more targeted, responsive, and effective. Students receive a range of 1:1 to small group instruction based on placement and individual need.

Dyslexia focus

Specialized support for students with dyslexia

ExcelPrep’s program is specifically designed to serve students with dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities. Our structured literacy approach uses explicit, multisensory instruction that directly addresses the phonological and decoding challenges associated with dyslexia. Students build real reading skills through consistent, evidence-based methods — not workarounds.

How we teach
Method 01

Direct Instruction

A structured, explicit teaching method with a proven track record for students with learning differences. ExcelPrep’s Direct Instruction approach is grounded in the work of Siegfried Engelmann — the researcher and educator who developed and refined DI over decades — and informed by Clear Teaching, Shepard Barbash’s accessible account of how Direct Instruction works and why it succeeds where other methods fall short. Every lesson is carefully sequenced, modeled clearly, and followed by immediate corrective feedback so no skill is left to chance.

  • Explicit, step-by-step skill sequencing
  • Immediate feedback and error correction
  • High student engagement and response rates
  • Consistent pacing to support mastery
Evidence-based
Method 02

Precision Teaching

A data-driven instructional framework that tracks fluency and accuracy daily. Precision Teaching ensures students achieve genuine mastery — not just surface-level exposure — before moving forward, and allows teachers to adjust instruction quickly based on real performance data.

  • Daily measurement of fluency and accuracy
  • Standard Celeration Chart tracking
  • Mastery before progression
  • Rapid instructional adjustments
Data-driven

Independence & transitions

Independence and transition skills are embedded throughout the program — not treated as separate goals. From daily routines to academic tasks, students are supported in building the self-management and adaptive skills they need to navigate school, community, and life beyond ExcelPrep. Transition planning is integrated from the start, ensuring every student moves forward with purpose and preparation.
